The facilities at Tyra II have achieved full technical capacity

10-11-2024

Today marks an important milestone in the redevelopment of Tyra II, as the Tyra facilities after reestablishment have reached full technical capacity and are ready for operation.

Production from the new facilities at Tyra II resumed in March 2024. Unfortunately, unforeseen issues arose with two transformers that supply power to the essential gas compressors. The issues occurred during the start-up phase. This has delayed the full commissioning of the facilities.

The operator, TotalEnergies, has now completed the necessary repairs before the coming winter season. Now follows a period of gradually increasing production from the Tyra field and the surrounding satellite fields to reach full production, which is expected to be achieved by the end of the year.

Once production from the Tyra and the surrounding satellite fields is fully established, Denmark will once again be a net exporter of gas. The production will make a significant contribution to securing the energy supply for Denmark and Europe.
